The rubber match between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez is just one week away and as both fighters are closing up training camps and heading over to Las Vegas, sparring is still on going amongst fans. The heated topic of the timing of this rubber match has drawn heated criticism, with many claiming Arum and Co. waited for Marquez to get older in this third go around. What is being pointed in addition to that is the topic of out weight. Pacquiao is the naturally bigger man and everyone knows that Marquez has issues looking good when he moves up from lightweight where he is the lineal king.
Pacquaio addresses those questions, partially in this video as he talks to Gabe Montoya and other reporters about the rubber match, stating that in fact he wanted the rubber match earlier and Marquez declined in favor of a bout with Chris John. The John bout took place in Indonesia and netted Marquez a meager fifty thousand dollars as well as a decision loss.
