Next weekend at The Home Depot Center in Carson, CA Brandon Rios will make his official jump to junior welterweight taking on the equally as tough “Mile High” Mike Alvarado. The two fighters share very similar styles and are both feared for their fearlessness and tenacity inside the ring. So it was no surprise that when the fight was announced fans, writers and just about everyone gave a school girl like squeal with many instantly calling the match a fight of the year candidate. With the bout now one week away and the hard work put in by both camps, Rios and Alvarado now look forward to the obligatory fight week media appearances happening all next week.

Alvarado believes that many fans are overlooking him given Rios’ fan base and feels Rios has yet to face a fighter as big, as strong and as determined as him.
