Five-time world title holder Zab Judah was understandably upset when his next opponent, Danny Garcia, called off their initial Feb. 9 fight date due to a rib injury. As luck would have it Mother Nature would have had its say if the original fight date went on as planned, as a major snow storm hit the New York area that would have canceled the bout scheduled at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn anyway.

Now with an April 27 fight date, Judah (42-7, 29 KOs) is ready to show his critics that he still has what it takes to be a world champ at 35 years old and is able to beat one of the hottest young stars in the sport in 24-year-old Garcia (25-0, 16 KOs)and take his WBA (Super), WBC and The Ring junior welterweight belts.

Judah needs to be weary of Garcia’s power as he was knocked out by Amir Khan in 2011, the very fighter Garcia knocked out last July to create the buzz surrounding his name.

Judah seems to be in the belief that Garcia may have faked his rib injury and some chatter he has heard from people around the Philadelphia area where Garcia resides and a tweet sent out by Garcia’s girlfriend that was hastily deleted that seem to back that feeling up.

Erica Mendez, Garcia’s girlfriend tweeted, “This n—a (Garcia) supposedly has a rib injury but was in the club Saturday Sunday Monday and is at the club right now on a Tuesday!!! Wtf!?!”

If Garcia was indeed out clubbing after a supposed injury it could mean that Garcia wasn’t in fighting shape or had the motivation to get in the ring with a seasoned vetern, but we may never know the truth.

Judah mentioned he and his crew made a video in front of the Barclays Center on the original Feb. 9 fight date poking fun at Garcia. Whenever Judah releases that video, it will be sure to add more fuel to the fire, making the April 27 fight date a must watch.

No matter what has transpired leading up to bout, the two will meet in the ring on April 27 and Judah can let his frustrations out that night and give his career a jump start and net himself another world title in the process.
