Ricky Hatton “Style of Amir Khan could give Mayweather some problems,” talks Mayweather vs. Canelo result

Ricky Hatton talks mayweather beating canelo

Ricky Hatton like many watched the Mayweather vs. Alvarez fight with great hope that the young Mexican superstar could push Floyd further than he had ever been pushed. Like so many others watching though, Hatton was amazed at the master class that boxing’s P4P king put forth. Alvarez was supposed to be Floyd’s toughest test to date and was seen as such by almost all that had an interest in this fight.

The more Ricky has watched of Mayweather the more content he has become with his fateful night in Las Vegas where he suffered a 10th round stoppage which he struggled with for many years. Speaking exclusively to our John Swindells, Hatton speaks on the fight that happened between the two top stars in boxing,

“He made a real good, good a fighter who is 15 lbs bigger than him look absolutely ordinary and you can’t just say he’s Pound for Pound you’re looking at an all-time great. It was a real anti-climax to what everyone was expecting could this be the man to beat him and it was the complete opposite and regardless of what you think of Floyd Mayweather you’ve got to take your hat off to him. With each fight since I was beat by him it was hard for me to come to terms with but with each fight he has had since then the more impressive he’s looking I feel honoured to have shared the ring with him.”

Hatton feels there are four tests left in front of Mayweather now but struggles to see how any of them could really end the unbeaten stars streak. These four are Amir Khan who Ricky thinks speed would be comparable to Mayweather’s, Gennady Golovkin for his destructive punching power although weight would be a real issue, Danny Garcia simply for the fact that he has cleared out the dangerous 140lbs division and that ever elusive fight against Manny Pacquiao.

What are your opinions? Is Mayweather an all time great now after this win?
