Can we all agree that Fighthub was by far the best independent site to deliver coverage on The One this weekend? I don’t want to pat myself on the back, but I will pat Michael Mardones, Mick Akers and our fearless leader, Marcos Villegas for carrying our torch through the MGM Grand all weekend long.

As a bookend on the wild weekend of action, Marcos just released this brief one on one with Floyd Mayweather after the fight against Canelo Alvarez on Saturday.

“I’ve fought plenty of guys who could punch. I believe a true champion can take a shot and bounce back. Going into the fight (I figured him out) I believe in my skills and I believe in my talent  and I’m sure he believed in his skills and his talent. I think experience played a major factor, same thing I was trying to tell people before. I fought Miguel Cotto, and he fought his brother. I fought Ricky Hatton and he fought Ricky Hatton’s brother.”

On his jab:

“I just took my time and tried to pick my shots. Use the jab to the body. He’s a good defensive fighter and he used a lot of good moves.”
