When Floyd Mayweather picked up British journeyman Ashley Theophane, people questioned the decision, but Ashley knows Mayweather promotions believes in him, and when he fights Pablo Cano, a win there could be huge for his career which could lead to a world title shot.

Theophane was Mayweather’s sparring partner for much of this camp, and our Marcos Villegas caught up with the Brit in the MGM Grand to bend his ear about the entire Mayweather circus, and of course, Pablo Cano, who is a tough as nails boxer, and has always given his opponents problems, but has also consistently fallen short of his goals.

“I was here for the Robert Guerrero fight so I knew how it would be, but being part of it, there’s nothing like it in the world of boxing. He’s a great opponent, he comes forward and he comes to win, but he always falls short. If you look at who I’ve fought, and who he’s fought, when it comes to step up, I always step up and I get a result, but he falls short.”
