Victor Ortiz wants you to forget about what happened June 27th, 2009. On that night, Ortiz had managed to knock down the rugged Argentine multiple times, but not without being knocked down himself. In the sixth round, Ortiz tasted the full fury of a Maidana assault. He fell to the canvas and did not continue, since that day he has had to fight with the stigma that Ortiz does not have the heart of a true fighter.
Ortiz has fought three times since that fateful day, earning wins against foes such as Antonio Diaz, Hector Alatorre and Nate Campbell. With each victory, has came the question of where Ortiz’s heart is and if he will ever face Maidana again. Ortiz has a scheduled bout September 18th, on the under card of the Mosley/Mora PPV celebrating Mexican independence on PPV. His opponent, “Vicious” Vivian Harris.
Ortiz though in this video, explains that it was originally suppose to be Maidana and for some reason or another he declined the rubber match much to the disappointment of Ortiz. Ortiz badly wants to avenge that lost to Maidana and as he explains to Marcos, our fight correspondent, he feels its time for the rest of the media to move on and not dwell on the past.
