The UFC hype machine is in full effect.
Just a few days removed from UFC Fight Night 59 and Conor McGregor’s expected beatdown over UFC veteran Dennis Siver, UFC CEO Lorenzo Fertitta has compared the Irish superstar to the most well known combat sports athlete of all time, Muhammad Ali.

“I hate even saying this, but with his gift of gab and his athletic ability and fighting ability, it’s almost like the Irish Muhammad Ali in a way. To compare anybody to Ali is kind of stupid because of all the other great things that were associated with him from a social movement and everything else. But Conor has just got that sparkle, that thing to him.”
Bold statement from Fertitta, but he certainly hopes that McGregor lives up to even one iota of Ali’s historic career. If he can, UFC will be dancing all the way to the bank.
