Randy Couture knows Bigfoot Silva only needs one good shot to grab Cain Velasquez’s belt.

“You can’t afford to play around with guys that size, Trust me. I know.”

Truer words were never spoken. Randy would know, he spent half his career in the UFC heavyweight division, where he would hold the title after beating Tim Sylvia at UFC 68. Randy went on to defend his title against Gabriel Gonzaga, only to lose it to Brock Lesnar at UFC 91. Randy knows how hard heavyweights hit, and we’ve even said it before: all it takes is one big shot from ANtonio Silva to render Cain Velasquez’s second title run a mere memory. Bigfoot is not a man to be taken lightly. Not like you could take that gigantic man lightly even if you wanted to, but I think you know what I mean.

Just look at what he did to Overeem, Fedor, and so many others. All it takes is one big foot to the face, one giant fist, and it’s over. Randy agree, and this is what he said to MMA Junkie:

“He has to come out, close the distance and get on Cain, especially if he can knock him down or take him down and get on top of him,” Couture said. “Establish a good top game, which if Cain wants to get up, he’s probably going to be able to do that, which would force Silva to do it again. He’s going to have be able to do it over and over in each and every round.”

A sound plan, but that window will be shut closed very fast if Cain decides to take SIlva down and bloody him up like last time. Ultimately, that’s what Randy thinks is going to happen… Again.

“I just think that athletically, Cain is just too much for him,” he said. “[Silva] is dangerous. He’s big, he’s strong, and he can hit hard, and if Cain gets caught up in that kind of fight and wants to trade with him, it could be a surprise. But I think Cain is smart. I think he’s going to have a game plan and do the appropriate thing he needs to do: implement the striking he has, but use wrestling to win that fight.”

Ironically, Randy is notoriously bad at picking fights, so maybe that means we will be seeing a Bigfoot Silva win tomorrow… Maybe. Nah.
