Cris Cyborg would gladly fight the trans-gender fighter; Fallon Fox as long as the Athletic Commission deemed it OK.

The touchy subject of Fallon Fox has been a surprisingly heated topic of discussion these last few weeks, with just about everyone speaking their opinion on what constitutes a man, woman and the role sex has in sports. I’m far too confused by the situation to even comment in a substantial way, but I guess I will say that ‘she’ should probably only fight other transgenders. That seems like the only fair thing to do. I think? Cris Cyborg feels differently.

Arguably the most dominating force in female MMA history, Cyborg Santos, has equally mixed emotions on the situation. She feels your gender is what you’re born with, so she isn’t happy with Fallon Fox and (her?) move into the female side of MMA, despite only technically being a female for 6-7 years, but Cyborg is more than willing to fight her as long as the commission oversees it and OKs it.

This is what Cyborg said to ESPN:

“She wants to be a girl. I don’t agree. I think you’re born a girl, you’re a girl. You’re born a guy, you’re a guy. But I don’t choose opponents. The commission needs to check and make sure she doesn’t have testosterone. I’m not going to judge other people. If the commission says she can fight, why not? People tell me on Twitter: ‘I think you have a d—.’ A lot of bad things, they say. I think people have a small mind. They don’t think a girl can punch hard like a man. I think people are ignorant. People are stupid. I don’t want to be the same as people who do that.”

Cyborg’s stance is probably the one that makes the most sense out of anyone. If the commission thoroughly checks through Fox, I guess I have no problem with that. What do you guys think?
