So this Ronda Rousey vs. Floyd Mayweather talk has really gotten out of hand. I don’t see the reason why people are arguing and getting all riled up over this. Two different sports, and two different sexes. I understand that there will always be comparisons and fodder between both boxing and MMA fans about the supremacy of their sport and athletes.
To me, this should be a dead issue but it continues to make people speak and talk once again happened today in Los Angeles at the Marquez vs. Alvarado media workouts. We won’t get into it, but our Layzie The Savage brought up a point that I feel will hit close to home to those of have studied mixed martial arts or wrestling. At some point in a fight, people clinch and Rousey is a Olympic bronze medalist in Judo. I think that should speak for more than itself.
But whatever.
Now we bring to a fun fact. Mike Alvarado was a state wrestling champion in high school. Say what? Yup and after all this Rousey vs. Mayweather talk was finished, Alvarado commented on which sport is harder to train in, Wrestling or boxing?
Oh yea, Alvarado fights Mexican legend Juan Manuel Marquez this Saturday on HBO at the Forum in Los Angeles. Can you say Barn Burner!?
