UFC champion Jose Aldo ‘sincerely’ does not care what Dana White has to say

UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo and UFC president Dana White have not always seen eye to eye. Whether it was Aldo complaining about fighter pay, White complaining about Aldo holding back in his fights, or Aldo taking flak for not moving up to 155 to fight Anthony Pettis, the two men have had their feuds.

Today the saga continued when Aldo was quoted saying that he simply does not care what his boss thinks after Dana commented that Aldo could not be the top pound for pound fighter in the world if he is not finishing his opponents.

Here is what Aldo told MMAFighting:

I don’t care what he says. He’s a businessman, he wants to promote his shows. He wants us to go in there and do our best without thinking about the consequences. Whatever he says, I don’t care. I care about what Andre (Pederneiras) tells me, what we have to train and do. That’s what I focus on. I’m still evolving. I still have much to do to get better. That’s what I focus on. If I’m the No. 1 or not, I leave that to the media and the fans. To me, I’ll always be the best. I feel I’m the best technically speaking, but I never think I’m the best and I’m unbeatable. I do everything I can to stay champion.

Aldo is currently scheduled to defend his title against Team Alpha Male member Chad Mendes in a rematch at UFC 179 on October 25th.
