No more pizza and pasta for former UFC champion Renan Barao

After Renan Barao’s weight cutting fiasco back at UFC 177 that cost him his rematch against current UFC Bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw, it makes sense the former champion has turned to a healthier diet.

While many called for Barao to move up to the featherweight division due to his size and difficulty cutting to 135 pounds, Barao is certain that cutting out bad foods will result in the best version of himself yet.

“After what happened, I improved my way of feeding and saw that I have to train more,” Barao told Agfight in a recent interview. “I stopped eating junk food, now I’m eating athlete food. I used to eat a lot of pizza, pasta. I’m more disciplined and following my nutritionist’s orders.”

We will find out whether or not his change in diet affects his performance against rising contender Mitch Gagnon at UFC Fight Night 58.
