Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza, Yoel Romero, Lyoto Machida, and Luke Rockhold may have to wait a bit longer than anticipated to face off against middleweight champion Chris Weidman.
With Weidman defending his title against Vitor Belfort at UFC 184, fans have been eager to know who will be next in line once those two men duke it out.
Well, Dana White quelled all rumors and anticipation last night by announcing former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva will earn a title shot with a victory over Nick Diaz at UFC 183.
Here is what White had to say (Courtesy of MMAmania):
“It’s an interesting fight. After the injury, where is Anderson going to be mentally? He does the right thing and is going to be in shape, but will he throw the leg kicks the way he used to? Nick Diaz hasn’t fought in a while. So who knows, we’ll see what happens. If Anderson wins, he can fight the winner of either Vitor or Weidman.”
