For years Rory “Ares” MacDonald has been called the “next generation” of MMA, but with his No. 1 contendership in the Welterweight division cemented, it is finally time to rightfully denote Rory as the current dominant force he is.
MacDonald was recently on the MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, and “Ares” noted his fascination with the current “new generation” of fighters such as Conor McGregor. MacDonald, who has nine career UFC victories, went so far to say that he actually wants to emulate Conor because he is on the cutting edge of movement and striking.
That is quite the lofty praise from such a skilled fighter as MacDonald. Who knows, maybe we will see both men training together someday soon.
