It seems Dana White and the UFC are in a japanese arms race for talent. News traveled yesterday that the Las Vegas based organization has signed DREAM and Sengoku veteran Michihiro Omigawa to their featherweight ranks.
It seems Omigawa has another one of his countryman as a co-worker. Dana White confirmed over his twitter that Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto has signed with the UFC. A notable featherweight in Japan, the featherweight fighter last performance was at DREAM 14 where he notched a first round knock out over Federico Lopez.
Yamamoto is most notable known for his unbelievable 14 fight win streak that spanned 5 years defeating notables such as Jeff Curran, Caol Uno, Bibiano Fernandes and Rani Yahya.
No set date has been announced for Yamamoto debut.
