Four Belts, Four weight classes. Why would Bellator be a challenge for Jaime Jara?

Fight Hub TV caught up with MMA veteran Jaime Jara as he prepares to make his Bellator debut against another veteran of the cage, Waachiim Spirit Wolf. Both fighters will be featured on the undercard of the premiere of Bellator’s season four from Tachi Palace in Leemore, CA.

FHTV: What brought you to MMA?

JJ: I wrestled and did martial arts. When I watched the 1st UFC I knew that is what I wanted to do.

FHTV: Your first fight was back in 2002, do you have any crazy fight experiences coming up until now?

JJ: Every once in a while I get fighters talking to me in the cage. I will hit them or get a takedown and they will say nice punch or good takedown. Lol!

FHTV: You are the only fighter in MMA history to win four belts in four different weight classes. What does that mean to you? Do you think that will ever happen again?

JJ: I’m sure someone will eventually do it.

FHTV
: You have had close to 40 fights, is there one that stands out?

JJ: Last year I took my son to see me fight for the first time. He sat cage side and I could hear him cheer for me louder than anyone at the venue. I will never forget that night.

FHTV: How does it feel to fight on a big stage as Bellator in front of your home crowd?

JJ: It is always great to showcase my skills on the big stage. Thanks to Tachi Palace and Bellator I have a chance to do it again.

FHTV: Spirit Wolf is a veteran, what do you think of his game?

JJ: From what I seen of his fights he brings it full throttle. This fight should be a war.

FHTV: Tell us more about your son and his training?

JJ: My son just turned 8 years old in February. His name is Joaquin and he trains bjj with me under Cassio
Werneck.

FHTV: If you were not fighting, what would you be doing?

JJ: Teaching.

FHTV: Who were some fighters you looked up to growing up?

JJ: lol… if you are referring to MMA fighters there wasn’t any MMA when I was growing up. I always loved watching Mike Tyson when he was in his prime though.

FHTV: Any last shout outs?

JJ: I would like to thank my sponsors Stealth Armor, 5150 fighwear, BAFM, Cassio Werneck, my fight team, Carnage. I also want to thank my manager Mike Rumsey, my boxing coach Joe Urias and all my training partners.
