The Philippines Congress will ban Justin Bieber from the country if he doesn’t apologize for Pacquiao tweets

It’s on now. The Philippines Congress is apparently outraged over a few tweets Justin Bieber made after Manny Pacquiao was knocked out by Juan Manuel Marquez in the sixth round of their fourth fight two weeks ago. They’ve issued a sternly-worded open letter to Justin Bieber, and have actually gone so far as to ban him from the country if he doesn’t say he’s sorry. Wow. It’s well-documented Justin Bieber and Floyd Mayweather are friends, but the tweets weren’t that bad. Here they are below. One is a take on the sad scene in Lion King when Simba tries to wake up his dead dad. The other, is a photoshop of Manny doing ‘the lean’ like former pop great Michael Jackson. May he rest in peace.

Here is part of the letter from the angry Philippine Congress:

“As his colleagues in this august body, it is incumbent upon us to demand an apology from Mr. Justin Bieber lest, we declare him persona non grata in this country,”  “Should he refuse to do so, Mr. Justin Bieber be declared persona non grata and thus should not be allowed to enter the country at any time in the future,”

Bieber responds:

“He has nothing to gain fighting Pacquiao. Floyd has never in his professional career lost a fight and Pacquiao lost his two fights,”

A country willing to ban a person (a hugely popular person) for photoshopped tweets. Truly one of the strangest moments in boxing history.
