Ricky Hatton “Martin Murray has no fear of Carl Froch” feels he is the best middleweight in the world

Former welterweight champ-turned promoter ricky hatton has a lot of faith in middleweight contender Martin Murray and rightfully so.

Murray (25-1-1, 11 KOs) is coming of his controversial loss (the first of his career) to Sergio Martinez in Martinez’s native Buenos Aires, Argentina, but many feel that Martinez got the hometown decision, as Murray out boxed Martinez for most of the fight.

With the effort put forth against Martinez, one would have to believe Hatton when he says that Murrary is not afraid of anyone, even Carl Froch.

Murray isn’t known for his power punching, but has three TKO’s in his last six wins, showing that at times he can end a bout early. Facing Froch, Murray most likely won’t be able to end the fight early, but he must throw powershots often, as Froch (31-2, 22 KOs) relies on pushing the action and has22 KOs in his 31 wins.

With any number of fights that Murray could make at the moment, the rumors have been flying around that knockout artist and current WBA and IBO middleweight champ Gennady Golovkin (27-0, 24 KOs) could face Murray next.

As dangerous as Froch is, Golovkin is that much more dangerous, as he boasts an incredible 88 percent KO percentage, winning by KO in 24 of his 27 bouts.

Murray could prove his place among the middleweight’s best with a solid showing against Golovkin, even if he doesn’t win, lasting the full 12 rounds and holding his own would likely be enough.

Murray definitely isn’t afraid of anyone in the sport, but his next moves in the ring will prove if he is a legit contender or a phony contender going forward.
