Since bursting onto the boxing landscape in a big way a year and half ago, Gennady Golovkin has pretty much bashed and decimated his way thru the middleweight division. Fans have been screaming for a unification match up with lineal champion Sergio Martinez with many of them picking the Kazakh KO king. With KO wins over top contenders such as Gabriel Rosado, Nobuhiro Ishida and Matthew Macklin, “GGG” will step into this ring this weekend to face hard punching Curtis Stevens. A win over Stevens will probably see many fans view Golovkin as the number one guy in the division.
Though you can’t really call any guy number one in a division that has a lineal champion. But we can speculate who would win and why as we brought Ricky Hatton into the mix to talk this match up and see whom he feels would win between the two!
