Michael Koncz “I thought Mayweather would be an a–hole on the phone” goes in depth on Pacquiao/Mayweather phone call

So when it was announced a few weeks back that Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao had a phone conversation with each other in a last ditch effort to make their welterweight unification megafight happen, it perplexed me to my inner core. I found it extremely interesting how a man like Floyd Mayweather Jr. who has chastised Pacquiao in the media just picked up the phone and called Manny Pacquiao. I sat and thought how awkward or surprising it must of been to be in Pacquiao’s shoes the night of.

We all know how it turned out though, Pacquiao’s advisor Michael Konzc and Manny Pacquiao offered a guarantee of 50 million dollars and a 55/45 PPV revenue split to the winner of the fight. Mayweather counter offered with a 40 million guarantee and just like that all our hopes and dreams were shattered once more. I still had questions, which is why last week I caught up with Michael Konzc as we both talked about the phone call that took place. When I asked Konzc directly why Mayweather denied the 50 million dollar offer and if he provided reasoning, he answered yes but did not want to reveal those reasons as a act in good faith to Mayweather.

I prodded a bit more and based on what Konzc says and you can come up with your own conclusions, it comes down to the value of the Mayweather brand in Mayweather’s mind and the potential monetary hit that could occur if he loses to Manny Pacquaio. So with that said let move along and hear from Mr. Konzc who explains the details of that phone conversation.
