It is Top Rank founder Bob Arum’s problem and responsibility to take care of that. Chavez Jr. is set to face Brian Vera this Saturday and by the looks of things he is going to weigh in at whatever weight he is comfortable weighing in at, regardless of his contract to fight at 168lbs.
Call it irresponsible or unprofessional but according to Jr. he should not have to sacrifice his health to make a low weight unless he is fighting for a world title.
