Fight week for one of the biggest spectacles the sport of boxing will ever seen between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao kicked off Tuesday with the grand arrivals of both pound-for-pound greats.
Mayweather held his at the MGM Grand where the bout will take place this weekend, Pacquiao skipped out on it after feeling disrespected after the ticket snafu, and held his at MGM’s sister property, The Mandalay Bay down The Strip, where he’s staying.
Mayweather made his with his TMT caravan driving into the Grand Garden Center, and had the marching band from Southern University doing their thing as Money May made his way to the stage.
Mayweather thanked his fans and media outlets for making the event the magnitude that it is.
The arrivals marks the official kick off to wight week, which will continue Wednesday with the final press conference where both fighters and their teams will be in attendance.
Then the final event before Saturday, May 2’s big showdown is this Friday’s weigh-in, which tickets were sold to at $10 a pop, with all the proceeds being split between two charities of Mayweather and Pacquiao’s choice.
