Robert Guerrero’s status with Golden Boy still up in the air as he looks to Pacquiao in December if he beats Kamegai

Robert Guerrero finally makes his return to the ring after one year and a defeat to boxing’s pound-4pound king, Floyd Mayweather Jr. He takes on Yoshihiro Kamegai at The Stub Hub Center this Saturday on Showtime at a venue that has produced some of the most memorable fights in recent years.

Guerrero is looking to bounce back from this defeat and make waves in a stacked welterweight division. A win over Kamegai places him quiet nicely with interesting matches possibly against Amir Khan, Danny Garcia and others. That is and only if Guerrero has a impressive win on Saturday night. He looked great yesterday though looking like a different athlete from the one a year ago in his Mayweather vs. Guerrero mega fight.

Guerrero thanks Crossfit for his new muscled physique and finally feels as if he is a true welterweight. It will be interesting to see what the high intensity training regime translates to in the ring as Guerrero speaks to me about the bout and a desire to face Manny Pacquiao in December.
