The weigh-in for Saturday’s Danny Garcia versus Rod Salka took place Friday at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The main bout between Garcia (28-0, 16 KOs) and Salka (19-3, 3 KOs) is at a catchweight of 142 pounds and none of Garcia’s junior welterweight straps will be on the line, as both the WBA and WBC didn’t sanction the fight, citing Salka is not a quality contender in the 140-round division.

A lot of talk has been surround Lamont Peterson (32-2-1, 16 KOs) who is in the co-feature tomorrow night, as may feel that Peterson should be in there with Garcia vying for his titles. Despite the public outcry over Salka being picked as Garcia’s opponent, Peterson will face Edgar Santana (29-4, 20 KOs), but could very well be Garcia’s next opponent if the two are victorious in their bouts.

The opening fight on the main card will feature Daniel Jacobs (27-1, 24 KOs), who fought he was back to w world title shot after a bout with cancer as he takes on Jarrod Fletcher (18-1, 10 KOs) for the vacant WBA junior middleweight title.
