Adrien Broner plans to give Carlos Molina a ‘silent ass-whoopin’

If you thought Adrien “The Problem” Broner might be a different person after suffering his first loss as a professional against Marcos Maidana last year, well you’re wrong.

When it was his turn to take the podium at the final press conference for the stacked undercard of “The Moment” pay-per-view event at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Broner attempted to trick the media crowd into thinking he was a new man.

Broner mimicked his opponent, Carlos Molina and said the almost scripted, thanks to all involved, I trained hard and I am going to win spiel in a wimpy, boring tone. Then he came to life and was his usual, trash-talking self, which amused the media in attendance.

Afterward Broner addressed the media for one-on-ones and gave some more colorful quotes in true Broner fashion.

Making it know with every chance he gets, Broner is not happy he has to face Molina, but knows losing to Maidana is the result of that. Taking it out on Molina is the only way Broner knows how to deal with the frustration and that’s what he plans to do.

“I’ve got to put on a show. If you’re going to give me a duck and you know I’m a duck hunter, I got to shoot it down,” Broner explained. “So I got to make an example out of him.”

When asked what message he had for Molina leading up to their bout this weekend, Broner was confident as ever in his response.

“I’m going to kick his ass, it’s in the pudding,” Broner stated. “He [Molina] ain’t really said nothing. He actually hasn’t said a word to me and we can keep it that way. It’s called a silent ass whooping.”

Addressing the thought that Broner keeps himself too busy outside of the ring to be able to focus enough on boxing, he explained his mentor had some sound advice for him after his setback.

“I talked to big bro [Mayweahther] and I did have a lot going on coming into my last fight, but there is no excuses,” Broner said. “Marcos Maidana came to fight and he was prepared and he was the better man that night, but we still AB man.”

Revisiting his loss to Maidana, Broner felt he gave the fans that love to hate him a gift, but turned him into a scrooge after that generosity.

“Everydody couldn’t wait for Adrien Broner to take his first loss and I really gave those people what they wanted to see,” Broner said. “At the end of the day man, I got a nice heart and all, but theirs is an ice box where my heart used to be.”
