Roy Jones Jr. the former pound-4-pound best boxer alive and a man of unmatched natural ability dropped his third straight loss to top rated cruiserweight Denis Lebedev. Jones held his own for the most part despite everyone counting him out. He repeatedly scored with pot shots against the slower Lebedev. Lebedev was a determined foe, as he applied pressure to back Jones against the ropes where he would land powerful shots.
By the 10th round, Jones was fading and backing up. Lebedev pressured the former champion against the ropes in the final thirty seconds of the round where he landed a series of shots that hunched Jones on his feet. He was clearly out as the Referee hesitated for one second as Lebedev landed one more shot that eventually crumpled Jones to the canvas. The bout was halted at 2:59 of the tenth, subsequently the last round.
