
So we have this goodie of a video for you all from our Fight Hub TV video vaults. As you boxing fans know, 2012 was a tough year as the sport lost some pretty significant figures. The death of Hector “Macho” Camacho took everyone by surprised as in the late 80’s and the 90’s he was one of the sports most known and exciting fighters to keep your eye on.
Whenever a fight that had Macho Camacho on it was announced, you know we all get a little giddy inside to see what Camacho had in store for us in terms of ring entrances and ring attire. He pretty much set the standard when it come to these little nuances which in our eyes make so much of a difference in a fighter being remembered. Regardless if your good or not, people will always remember you if you are entertaining, and Camacho was both good and entertaining.
Freddie Roach had the tough task of facing a then undefeated rising Hector Camacho in December of 1985, and as he tells our Marcos Villegas, he was caught off guard by Camacho’s speed and the fact that he did not wear his trademark flashy trunks to the ring. So what happened to Camacho’s trunks? Well Roach tells us the story in this clip below!
