Fight Hub TV 2012 Holiday MMA and Boxing gift guide

By Alex Mattis

The official Christmas season of combat sports was kicked off in a big way this past weekend. The UFC lent us an entertaining card on Fox and the boxing world gave us the fourth installment of Manny Pacquiao Vs. Juan Manuel Marquez. I missed the ending of Pacquiao-Marquez but from what I’ve heard; nothing interesting, let alone shocking, happened.

We’re within two-weeks of Christmas and if you’re reading this it may mean you need some gift ideas for that combat sports fan in your life. Well, we here at FightHub have got you covered. We’ve put together a list of fine products that any combat sports enthusiast would be thrilled to get during the holiday season.

First off, head on over to www.rootsoffight.com and check out some potential ideas. The Roots of Fight clothing company offers a wide array of slick boxing and MMA apparel. Just for the holiday season they’ve released two new short sleeves, crew neck t-shirts. The first of these new garments pays tribute to Smokin’ Joe Frazier, one of the biggest names in boxing history. If your old man is a boxing fan, this one is for him. The second release is a grey USA Wrestling shirt that would bring a tear to Bob Backlund’s eye. These shirts a subtle enough to be worn in any casual environment, look to be hella comfortable, and for around $35 won’t leaving your wallet feeling like it ate a Frazier left-hook.

No Mas (www.nomas-nyc.com) offers an online selection of outstanding MMA and boxing apparel. No Mas has partnered with Everlast to celebrate Everlast’s 100th anniversary. What better way to celebrate than picking up a beanie or t-shirt from the NY collection? It’s only, like, the most iconic brand in boxing history. There’s a nice vintage look to these items so they may be best for the hipster boxing fan.

The crew over at No Mas has a nice selection of MMA shirts as well. Being that PRIDE shirts should be required by law for any MMA fan, it is never a bad idea to add one to anyone’s collection. A very swank UFC monogram shirt is also available. There is not one flame, cross, or skull on it instantly making it a rarity. Any of these items would work just dandy and with each being around $34, you’ll be giving great gifts without dipping into your Pay-Per-View funds.

Lastly, the homeboys over at Round 5 have a brand new line in the UFC Ultimate Collector Series. Bring home GSP, Jon Jones, Carlos Condit, Mark Munoz, Vitor Belfort, or Brittney Palmer collector figures for the holidays…Sweet, sweet Brittney Palmer. For only 15 bucks these Round 5 figures are perfect décor for any home, office, cubicle, car, and (in the case of Brittney Palmer) nightstand. People that say they are too old to get toys as gifts are living in denial.

In addition to this new lineup, first-time Hall of Fame Edition figures of Chuck Liddell, Randy Couture, and Royce Gracie are now available. These babies are legit.

There you have it, folks. Hope we could help. Whether you’re giving or just picking some stuff up for yourself, drop a few bucks on the items we’ve plugged. Pick up that Joe Frazier shirt and I guarantee you’ll be the smoothest looking cat at any UFC 155 party you go to. If you’re still stumped, you should just get the person in question an IHOP gift card because EVERYBODY likes breakfast food.

Merry Christmas,

Alex Mattis & Fight Hub TV
