UFC on Fuel TV 5 Video Picks: Stipe Miocic vs Stefan Struve

The latest installment of MMA Odds Breaker is out, this time Nick Kalikas and Miguel Iturrate took a look at the heavyweight battle that will headline UFC: Nottingham on September 29. When Stefan Struve and Stipe Miocic meet this is Saturday, it will certainly be an interesting one from a bettor’s perspective.

Here are the updated BetDSI Sportsbook UFC odds on this match:

Stipe Miocic (-240)
Stefan Struve (+190)

It is no surprise that the surging prospect, Miocic (9-0), is favored to win as MMA insider Matt Trigg pointed point. Undefeated in his UFC tenure, the Ohio native has looked next to sterling in the octagon, taking knockout victories over Shane Del Rasario and Philip De Fries after winning a lopsided decision to Joey Beltran in his promotional debut.

Matt Brown of HeavyMMA brings up excellent points about Struve (24-5), however. The Dutchman is coming off three consecutive wins of his own, stopping Pat Barry, Dave Herman, and Lavar Johnson. While we have seen Struve fall victim to the same right hand on three separate occasions, “The Skyscraper” has proven to be a potent offensive kickboxer, and is deceptively adept in the clinch. Meanwhile, Miocic’s bout with Del Rosario showed that the undefeated heavyweight has some clear holes in his boxing defense and has a lot of work to do in clinch.

Whether or not Struve can deliver on the potential upset, this bout is very clearly ripe for one.
