Tim Kennedy talks UFC 162, Roger Gracie and freedom of speech.

Tim Kennedy

Oh, Tim Kennedy. You just want to work hard, fight hard and play hard. I get it, but what most other people don’t understand about you is that you’re a very sarcastic person, and you know that garbagemen don’t get paid more than the average fighter. Oh wait, they do? Crap. Well, either way, Tim Kennedy apologized for his incendiary words that got him trouble with the UFC brass, and he’s here to talk about that trouble.

Love him or hate him, Tim Kennedy is an honest guy. Sometimes that honesty makes you love him, or hate him, but life is a roofie circle, and Tim Kennedy will fight for your right to love him or hate him. Even if that makes you love him or hate him. See what I’m getting at here?

When Tim Kennedy fights Roger Gracie this Saturday at UFC 162, it will be amidst anti-Kennedy fever, after he said fighters get paid far too little for what they do. Will he get punished if he loses and get the quick axe?

“I say things people don’t agree with and it makes people really mad,” said Kennedy. “They lash out and attack and say horrible things, or do horrible things. That’s the wrong idea. I want people to say things that I totally disagree with, that makes my blood boil, that is so awful, but I want them to have that right. Just like I should be able to say anything I want. That’s the reason that I went to war to fight for these rights.”
