Tim Bradley feels Cub Swanson deserves to fight Jose Aldo

Here’s my take on the whole Cub Swanson getting a title shot issue: I believe in redemption, and he’s definitely become a better fighter over the last few years since the WEC closed, but how can you ever get over a 7-second double flying knee to the face that tears your skull open and ends your night?

Say it with me – double flying knee.

But still, Swanson is on a five-fight winning streak since losing to Ricardo Lamas in November of 2011 (my God it was that long ago?), and he’s chalked up 4 knockouts in that time. It’s impressive, he’s one of the best in the division, but I feel like he needs one more win still.

Not Tim Bradley, though.

“He’s a tremendous boxer, he spars with pros all the time. You can’t do that with MMA guys, put them in there with pros, they’ll just get beat up. That’s what separates him from the pack – work ethic and boxing IQ. His training techniques.”

“They’re scared of him. I want to see him in there with Aldo, he deserves a shot at the title.”
