With the much-awaited rematch between pound-for-pound great Floyd Mayweather Jr. and the hard-hitting Argentinian Marcos Maidana less than three weeks away, Showtime released a recap video of the first bout to hype up the Sept. 13 rematch.

Maidana insists that he won the first bout held in May, but Mayweather ultimately came out on top with a majority decision victory (117-111, 116-112, 114-114).

Maidana got out to a quick start overwhelming Mayweather, but overexerting energy during the first half of the fight led  to Maidana gassing out during the second half of the bout. With Mayweather being a master adjuster in the ring, Mayweather figuring Maidana out, coupled with Maidana tiring out lead to Mayweather sealing the deal with his late round dominance.

The second bout will again be held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and Maidana has vowed to pace himself this time and walk out of the ring victorious.

With Mayweather being able to adapt to a fighter as well as anyone, a lot of media are saying the second go-round will be a blow out in Mayweather’s favor, as Maidana is going to bring much of the same fight he brought in May.

Of course, anything is possible in a fight, so Maidana could be the first one to hand Mayweather a loss, but don’t beat your money on it.

Tune in to watch the12-round world championship bout for Mayweather’s WBA and WBC welterweight titles in addition to his junior middleweight belts, Saturday, Sept. 13, live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Showtime PPV at 8 p.m. EDT/5 p.m. PDT.
