Mayweather vs. Maidana II: Chino says he’ll cut ring off so Money can’t ‘run’

Marcos Maidana says he thinks he won the first fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. in May and he will correct the mistakes he made in order to leave the ring with the judges feeling the same way in their rematch, awarding him the victory.

Sure, this is a tall task for anyone, but with flashes of success against Mayweather the first time around, if Maidana can change his pace up a bit he has as good of chance as anyone to beat Mayweather. Maidana must pick and choose when he unleashes a barrage of punches on Mayweather instead of exerting all of his energy early on, as was the case in the first fight.

With Mayweather being a master of the defensive fight style, many accuse him of running, and that was the case for the second portion of the first fight. Maidana said he has worked on cutting off the ring and will try yo implement that Sept. 13, to engage Mayweather in more offensive exchanges.

Mayweather is a master adjuster and will be ready for anything Maidana throws his way, but the rematch that seemed like a unneeded factor a few months ago, is steadily picking up steam heading toward fight night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas Saturday, Sept. 13, live on Showtime PPV.
