It feels like Manny’s ‘end’ has been talked about forever. But he’s a warrior, and like many warriors who only know in their own mind when the end is really nigh, he has some loose ends to tie up. He took down Brandon Rios in November in what turned out to become a personal feud, and now he’s ready to avenge his 2012 split-decision loss to Timothy Bradley. A fight that the Pacquiao camp has always felt they were robbed of. Whether or not you agree with their position on that fight, Manny has changed up his camp, and is confident in his abilities still.

Marcos Villegas pulled Manny from the throngs of journalists at the Wild Card Boxing Gym in Los Angeles to get his opinion on everything from his new, more strenuous training camp to Timothy Bradley’s absent socks.

“This training camp we trained hard and we did a lot of things that we didn’t usually do. I’m excited and happy for this training camp.” It’s obvious nothing scares Manny, “I’m excited because God is behind me. I have to prove that I can still fight in boxing.”

When Marcos prodded the legend further, cementing the fact that he’s still fast and still quick , Pacquiao agreed in his usual measured demeanor, “I proved that with Rios and this time around I have to confirm it to prove it again.”

One thing is certain,  Manny is focused, “I have to prove again, I have to prove again on the 12th.”
