Lamont Peterson “He was fouling, he was penalized, I won the fight”

The first fight between Amir Khan and Lamont Peterson was certainly a controversial one, with fans split between team Khan and team Peterson. When the final scorecards were read boxing fans were split and ablaze with talk over twitter and the net. Why did the referee deduct a point from Khan in the last round of a championship fight that was extremely close? Was it just pushing or use of an elbow by Khan that ultimately led him to get a point deducted? Did Peterson do enough in the later rounds to justify the decision he was given in his hometown?

All of that is in the past as both fighters look to the future as their rematch will take place on May 19th. Amir Khan is promising another toe to toe battle and even going out on a limb, saying he will knock out Peterson this time around. We had a chance to speak to Lamont Peterson, as he shares his thoughts on the rematch, the point deduction in the final round and what he calls “complaining” on Khan’s part.
