Mr. Gary Shaw is no stranger to us over here at Fight Hub TV. We are constantly running into him on the boxing side of things and Shaw, the former head of Elite XC still keeps up to date on the business end of MMA from time to time. While recently in Los Angeles, we sent our fight correspondent Marcos Villegas over to have a chat with him on what he thinks about the new Pro Elite promotion. Though the footage is archived, when looking back thru it we found a diamond in the rough as Shaw reveals that the now out of business Elite XC attempted to sign Fedor Emelianenko.
Shaw goes on to explain how negotiations went and how it was like dealing with the M-1 Global people. “If Fedor had the right management, he would of been in the UFC and would of became a huge star,” Shaw is quoted as saying. It is certainly a point of view many MMA fans would agree with as the once invincible Russian icon is going thru some hard times as of late.
