Frank Mir “Cain Velasquez showed that Junior Dos Santos has no ground defense”

Speaking in the third person, this is something that Big Willy does not do because, well honestly – Big Willy has no reason to do this. One person that does and does it well is, The Rock. The Rock can do that because he is the great one and will layeth the smacketh down on any jabroni trying to tell him different. Another person who may not speak in the third person in front of our Fight Hub TV camera’s but does so with his Twitter handle, is The Frank Mir. Almost makes you wonder, does he walk around the house like -“What does the Frank Mir want for breakfast? How did the Frank Mir get such an awesome deal on those 22 inch rims? Why does the Frank Mir get so much hate from fans when they used to love me?” Things like that go through his head and I can only hope that he does this all in his best Broadway sing songy voice.

Away from whatever thoughts run through the former champion’s mind that we do not hear, Michael Mardones (best cameraman in the game today – no lie) caught up with Mir at the World MMA Awards in Las Vegas last week to get his thoughts on UFC 155, rebuilding himself, and more.

“I thought it (Cain Velasquez’s performance) was excellent! He had a game plan and he followed it through; He knew to get the takedown no matter what cost and grind him out.. and kinda showed that Junior (Dos Santos) had no ground defense.” – Frank Mir

Discussing his rehabilitation from a knee injury and getting himself ready for his next fight, Mir shared his opinion on fighter’s health and abilities on fight night: “One aspect of my career I am trying to work on, is showing up with my full potential to fight… guys have hard training camps, they get hurt, get injured and are showing up less to fight. Sometimes it boils down to not who is the best fighter that night but who shows up at their best percentage.”

Mir is dropping pearls of wisdom people. Even though they may be the most obvious pearls, it could still be a necklace worn proudly be any gym monkey wanting to train UFC.
