UFC 166 is rapidly approaching, and with the event comes Gilbert Melendez vs. Diego Sanchez. It’s already an important chapter in the lightweight division’s history book, as Gilbert could be the lightweight champ had fate been kind to him on April 20th vs. Ben Henderson.
And so Gilbert will begin his climb back to the top, after not being defeated for over four years, he’s coming at an opponent after a loss. Diego Sanchez, longtime welterweight and lightweight contender, wants to prove his rebirth is worth giving a damn about. The tension is high, the drama is there.
