Fabricio Werdum Plans To Unify Heavyweight Titles, Talks GP Final With Barnett

June 26, 2010 was very similar to May 29, 1453, the day that Constantinople fell. June 26 was the day that the Last Emperor fell to defeat similar to that of Constantine XI Palaiologos the last emperor of Rome. Both battles saw the emperor charge into battle with little hesitation and both ended with the fall of the emperor. Mehmed II was the one responsible for the fall of Rome, while Fabricio Werdum was the one to bring the fall of MMA’s Last Emperor by triangle choke.

Our correspondent Marcos Villegas got a chance to catch up with the Brazilian warrior. He shared his thoughts on the recent Strikeforce buyout and if he was excited about the purchase by Zuffa. Werdum also talks about his desire to fight anyone in the current UFC heavy-weight roster, and it sounds like Werdum wants to see two belts become one.

He also expressed frustration of with his bout with current Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem being pushed back in the middle of training camp and what it does to a fighter. The Brazilian touches on watching Fedor lose twice in a row and believes that Fedor still has pletny to offer to fans.

Finally he talks a game plan for Josh Barnett and touches on how his life has changed since bringing an end to The Last Emperors reign.
