Before Bout With Fernando Montiel, Nonito Donaire Shows Off His Title Belts

Who doesn’t like nice shiny things? Wait, let me rephrase that, who doesn’t like nice, expensive shiny things? We all do and once we spend a arm and a leg to attain that certain piece of “bling” we want to tell the whole world about it. Now this is not a particular phenomenon that is entitled to big money making rappers and their G6 planes and shiny chrome rims. Oh no people, if you have a aunt, uncle, brother or sister that is a budget baller you know they will just about waste all of their pay check to purchase that extra piece of jewelry or dime piece.

What comes next is the biggest hype job you have ever seen since Muhammad Ali. They seem to talk about their treasured piece non stop.

“You know how much this cost?”
“Hey girl you know how much this watch right here is worth?”
“pssh, you cant afford this thing right hurrr?”

It is in human nature, we all like to show off our nice things. Athletes are no different. While bodybuilders show off their biceps, basketball center’s show off their Bentley’s and certain football quarterbacks show off their penis, what do boxing stars show off?

Title belts!

Us fans will always be more than willing to hear out any former world champion about how they won their belts and we had the chance to do that with “The Filipino Flash” Nonito Donaire. Donaire, who is scheduled to fight Fernando Montiel, February 19th at the Mandalay Bay for his WBC/WBO world bantamweight titles. Donaire talked to Fight Hub TV exclusively about his titles and who he beat to gain them.

Which one means the most to Donaire? “The famous IBF red championship belt, who I won from Vic “The Dick” Darchinyan,” said Donaire. “Dic Varchinyan, one of those. I get dyslexic sometimes.” While Donaire was in a joking manner when talking about his win over Darchinyan, what winning that title meant to his family and himself was indeed serious, “it was amazing, just being a world champion at that time, all I wanted to do for my grandparents, my father, my mother, for myself, it came true.”

The upset win over Darchinyan has to this point proved to be the highlight Donaire’s career, but another moment could soon be fast approaching as he will attempt to become the legit Batamweight champion with a win over KO artist Fernando Montiel.
