Danny Garcia is looking to follow in the foot steps of Lamont Peterson, Timothy Bradley and Josesito Lopez in a year that has seen huge upsets in boxing. The current WBC super lightweight champion is scheduled to face former kingpin Amir Khan on July 14th after Khan’s scheduled rematch was botched due to Lamont Peterson’s failed pre fight drug test.
The hype train has begun for the fight as Garcia mouthpiece Angel Garcia, Danny’s father and head trainer began the smack talk at a recent press conference in Los Angeles. The younger Garcia, who is a bit more reserved and quiet believes much of what his father mentioned in previous interviews, that Khan is overrated and has never faced someone like him.
