What’s next for “Pac-man” after suffering his first knockout loss since 1999 coming at the hands of Juan Manuel Marquez?
When thinking of what’s next for Mike Alvarado after a sensational stand-up war and upset win over Brandon Rios for WBO Light Welterweight gold, many fans might what to see a third and final fight between Rios and Alvarado, but it looks like that fight can wait as Top Rank seems to be making other plans.
In other news, just got word Denver’s own @MileHighMike303 has agreed to fight Manny Pacquaio in October!!!!!!
Alvarado and his manager Henry Delgado are flying out to negotiate a contract tomorrow. Alvarado-Pacquaio in October.
I asked Delgado about Alvarado-Rios III. He said that can wait. This is Manny Freaking Pacquaio.
Talks of Marquez-Bradley have been in the mist already. Also, Pacquiao wants a chance to retrieve his belt, but Marquez apparently doesn’t want to face Pacquiao again now that he’s made the Filipino superstar face plant in front of thousands of fans in attendance at the sold out MGM Grand Garden Arena and the millions watching at home.
If Manny Pacquiao wants to get back in the mix, a fight with Alvarado is imperative. If he can win in impressive fashion it ups his stock a notch and can bump Mike Alvarado back down for a trilogy fight with Brandon Rios. Or for Alvarado, a win over “Pac-Man” can cement his legacy and up the value in a third contest between Rios and Alvarado.
So will Pacquiao vs. Alvarado get set for Macau, China this October? Can Pacquiao knock Mike Alvarado back down the ladder. Can Alvarado spice up a third fight with Brandon Rios by defeating one of the greatest in boxing today?
