Chris Weidman “People can’t fathom he lost, so they make excuses”

Chris Weidman is determined to show that his win over Anderson Silva on July of this year was no fluke. The new UFC middleweight champion has been hounded and jeered over this “fluke” win and quite frankly according to him it has cheapened his victory of dethroning the once unstoppable Anderson Silva. Not that he hasn’t enjoyed and cherished his time as champion but Weidman admits he knew that there would have to be a rematch even before beating Silva.

Confused? We were at first but as Weidman explains he had the foresight to know that beating Silva a second time would end all doubts given what Silva had achieved. He may be part psychic, or part highlander but people still have a hard time seeing him as champion.

Weidman fully acknowledges this as he tells our Marcos Villegas that people are making which ever excuse they can find to discredit his win.

Weidman is ok with that and he fully intends to prove everyone wrong at UFC 162.
