Wanderlei Silva gets $70k fine and lifetime ban from NSAC

The Nevada State Athletic Commission came down hard on the recently retired UFC and PRIDE legend Wanderlei Silva this afternoon as they gave Silva a lifetime ban and a $70,000 fine for running away from a random drug test prior to UFC 175.

Silva did not attend the NSAC hearing today, and was instead represented by his attorney Ross Goodman. Afterwards, Goodman called the NSAC hearing a kangaroo court and promised to appeal the decision.

Wanderlei Silva took to Twitter to respond to his punishment, but tweeted in Portuguese. MMA reporter Guilherme Cruz provided the translation:
