Vitor Belfort thinks Anderson Silva would tool Jon Jones at stand up

Take it from the only human being who has ever been in the cage with both Jon Jones and Anderson Silva, Vitor Belfort knows what he’s talking about. In this case, the Phenom is sizing up the potential of a superfight between Bones and The Spider, and he thinks Anderson is too much for Bones. This is what Vitor had to say via Fighters Only:

“Anderson vs. GSP is meaningless. It would make sense if Anderson fought Jon Jones. Anderson is a fighter at another level. I’m not underestimating Jones but appraising Anderson. He’s one of the best that has existed, I always thought it,” he told Por Dentro da Arena in his native Brazil.

“It is very nice to see his success. I know what he has gone through. Anderson is in a very high level and should defend his belt or fight for the light heavyweight title. I think he has a greater possibility to beat Jones. He would win on the feet.”

We can only hope, pray, and wish as hard as we can then go to sleep at night, hoping to wake up the next day with the announcement of Bones vs. Anderson, but we won’t hold our breath. It’s nice to see the fight being summed up by the only guy who really can sum it up though. It’s worrisome with Jones being vocal about his impending move to heavyweight and Anderson’s general vagueness may lead to us never seeing this fight that would undoubtedly lay to rest the question of who is the greatest ever.
