The UFC 177 event imploded in front of our eyes today as two fights were lost including the main event title rematch between UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw and former bantamweight champion Renan Barao.

First the event lost the debut of Olympic Gold Medalist Henry Cejudo, who was set to fight Scott Jorgensen in the prelims, due to weight cutting issues that led to medical problems for Cejudo.

Just an hour or so later the UFC lost Renan Barao to similar circumstance as he fainted while cutting weight and will not be able to compete for the title tomorrow. In his place the UFC selected former Bellator and Tachi Palace Fights champion Joe Soto, who gets a title shot in his UFC debut.

The card will move forward with only 8 fights after the late scratches. All of the fighters on the card stepped on the scales today to make their bouts official and the UFC 177 curse continued. Both Yancy Medeiros and Ramsey Nijem missed weight for their lightweight bouts on the main card. Both men will have two hours to cut the additional weight or forfeit a percentage of their purse.
