Things are weird nowadays. Rumor has it ticket sales for UFC 164 in Milwaukee were doing pretty poorly, now all of a sudden TJ Grant is out and Milwaukee’s own Anthony Pettis is in the headlining UFC 164 bout, in a rematch of the WEC lightweight championship that Pettis won via decision, and showed off Pettis Kick that shocked the world.
Conspiracy theories abound now, in the same vein as Cat Zingano pulling out of her bout with Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate going into the TUF slot. And this has absolutely happened before when Carlos Condit was given some cash to back out of his fight with GSP at UFC 137 to fight Nick Diaz.
MMA Junkie is saying that Grant is ‘out’ — nothing more. We don’t know about an injury, we just know this is weird.
