So Tom Watson is calling out Wanderlei Silva, eh? Does he deserve a shot at the legend?

Cung Le vs Wanderlei Silva

Everyone loves a happy Wand.

Can you not let a happy Wanderlei be happy without calling him out for at least a few hours, Tom Watson? We know you’re riding high off of your Stanislav Nedkov win, but in my opinion, it’s just plain rude to want to pop the bubble of joy that was Wand’s night in Japan after knocking out Brian Stann like a boss.

You did it anyway, Tom Watson. You made a slightly confusing comment about supplements, which could be a veiled reference to possible PED use (get Wand on TRT ASAP), then called out a legend on Twitter.

Hrmph. Well, Tom Watson is 1-1 in the UFC, with an admittedly awesome knockout of Nedkov, and a one-sided decision to Brad Tavares (don’t let the split-decision there fool you, Watson lost decidedly). Does the former Bamma and UCMMA middleweight champ deserve a shot at Wand? Given his legendary status, Wand is above a Watson fight, but with his  possible stay at 205 for a few money fights before retirement,  no. No he doesn’t.

Wanderlei Silva has a host of interesting fights that would only add to his legacy. Who could Wand take on in a goodbye tour of sorts? Well…

Forrest Griffin- This would be super fun, guaranteed violence and would be a superfight of sorts.

Gegard Mousasi – I don’t know how or why this fight would happen, but I want to see it.

Brandon Vera – If he fights like he did against Shogun, it would make for a hell of a co-main.

Who knows if Wand even wants to go back to 185, but he has a few other fights that make more sense before Watson. A Hector Lombard fight would be pretty sweet in Australia, and I think everyone would watch a Bisping rematch.

Maybe his 4-5 record denotes a ranking in the middleweight division that entices Watson. Are the on a collision course, though? Not unless Wand says “Yes.”  There is no other way. So sorry Watson, we know you want Wand, but we think the guy could be pretty busy for a while (unless he wants to retire on his badass win in Japan, which I wouldn’t be against).
