Before you scoff at Ronda’s proclamation of being one of the best (if not the best) striker in WMMA, you have to understand that she’s been training with some serious boxers for years now. Yes, she looked raw as she steamrolled her way through woman after woman, but now when you see her train, it’s obvious that the Olympic judoka has developed a serious set of hands.

We’ve captured her evolution in earnest throughout the years, and you can see example after example after example of her evolution.

Now she’s making it public – she’s a well-rounded badass and you better watch out:

“My MMA striking is the best in the game, with judo I spent so many years with a certain posture that the hardest thing was adjusting it.”

“I’ve reached a certain level of competition where what’s required out of striking to come into the clinch to grapple is a lot more complicated than at the lower levels. It requires much more high-level footwork and striking to be able to use grappling at all.”

“It’s a younger side of the sport that’s still developing, it’s going to need a little more time before we can reach the same standard the guys are at because they had a big head start.”

We’ve seen it time and time again with two grapplers, will McMann and Ronda decide to test their standup?
